Simian Mobile Disco

Simian Mobile Disco's (somewhat recent) release of "Synthesise" just made my day. :) To accompany the song? Amajing video. Anyway, it was a lot of fun to go back and listen to their debut album "Attack Decay Sustain Relase", so hereto it is attached! I daresay, it just might be enough to pull me back into the realm of EEEELECTRO (success)... A little bit about them:

Simian Mobile Disco are an English production and remix team. Formed from the ashes of Simian in 2005, they are comprised of members James Ellis Ford and James Anthony Shaw. SMD have released a number of low profile singles, such as "The Count" on Kitsuné Music, but arguably have gained more fame for their remixes of pieces by artists such as Klaxons, The Go! Team, Air and others. Musically, they are known for heavily stylised tracks - often with minimal instrumentation - that associate themselves with a particular hook repeated throughout the track. Breakdowns often consist of noise, drums, synths, and vocals.

Have a wonderful weekend, tout le monde.

Keirin

This is an incredible commercial.

Besides providing a wonderful look at life in Tokyo, it shows that the real beauty of "standardized" culture such as that of the Japanese is how each individual chooses to break from it. The is a real sense of passion that comes with the escape, and that's something you don't see very often over here where individuality is no longer an achievement but instead the norm.

Maybe this is why everything I obsess over has already been obsessed over, and more strongly so, by the Japanese...

And don't even get me started in Keirin bikes. That's another post for another day.

(Sorry for breaking the layout, btw.)
